Sometimes it’s a book. Sometimes it’s a picture. Sometimes it’s a smell. Sometimes it’s the therapy. Which was yours? I would like to hope everyone has the chance for a book to have deepen their curiosity of something for them. If it wasn’t for you it may have been for the person you read it to. You know the moment in that child’s eye that says ‘this is magic… mamma’, or the elder in the bed at the nursing home that has needed that poem read to them again because it was the one thing that kept them alive. The picture… could it be the seascape that opened you up to the possibility that there are things out there that you haven’t seen yet or the sunrise/sunset that makes you remember a childhood filled with hope for what is yet to come for the day. The smell… grandma’s bread baking, the freshly cut grass, the pine scent of the forest or the salty sea air? The therapy of a long hot bath with your favorite salts, the long hot shower with your favorite music playing as you get ready for your day, the yoga that gives you the energy to hold on to the power to keep moving as you should?
All of these things are ones that bring us joy of the moment, of the situation, of the lifetime of pushing on despite the setbacks or the despair that is right in front of us but will not break us. We have the bricks and mortar to build a strong foundation because of the for said; because a book, a picture, a smell or a therapy has given us the strength unlike anything that anyone can take away. When the wind blows we bend, when the tides turn we navigate, when life gives you lemons you drink Titos and lemonade all day long because you can and will survive because of a book, a picture, a smell and/or a therapy!!!
That is all!
